Introduction

Data collected from a study recently conducted by Inosculation Hub and Institute of Sustainable Communities has revealed that female workers are quantifiably more efficient, hard working and loyal employees of an organization when compared to their male counterparts. However, they are also the most vulnerable. The purview of the study included managers, female supervisors, and female workers spread over around 50 factories in different states of India. The transition to clean and green technology in the manufacturing sector will create the opportunity of new jobs and female workers across sectors should grab this opportunity.

About Institute of Sustainable Communities (ISC)

The Institute for Sustainable Communities is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting communities most affected by climate change. With a mission to address environmental, economic, and social challenges, they work to build a better future that is equitable and shared by all. They focus on facilitating community-driven climate change mitigation projects in countries such as the United States, India, China, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia, while addressing systemic inequalities and extractive capitalism. Through capacity building, technical assistance delivery, knowledge products, climate change action planning, and peer learning, they strive to address the root causes of climate change and build resilience in vulnerable communities.

(ACMA) for Automobile sector

One of the key skill development programs by ACMA is the “Kaushal Vikas Yojana” (KVY) which is a training program for workers in the automotive industry. The KVY program aims to enhance the employability of workers by providing them with training in various areas such as technical skills, soft skills, and safety practices. The program is designed to address the skill gaps in the industry and improve the productivity and efficiency of workers.

ACMA has also launched a “Skill Development Initiative” which is a program that provides training in various technical areas such as welding, machining, and assembly. The program is designed to improve the skills of workers and enable them to take on more advanced roles in the industry.

Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) has several skill development programs in green jobs, aimed at promoting sustainable manufacturing practices in the automotive industry. These programs are designed to upskill workers and enable them to work in areas such as electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and other sustainable technologies.

One of the key skill development programs by ACMA in green jobs is the “Electric Mobility Skills Enhancement Program” which is a training program that provides hands-on training in the manufacturing and servicing of electric vehicles.
